Niners Baby!

Our Sundays have been very full lately, must be post season football!

Trinette and Mike we're kind enough to let us watch the game at their house last weekend. We are blessed with a pretty big pack of friends.

Lisa and I stood in the back with our sleepy babies, and for good reason! Every time the Niners scored the whole room would cheer, and we'd have to rush Hailey and Aiden out away from the noise, then everyone went silent as we waited for one of the babies to cry. Fortunately these kiddos aren't easily startled :-)

Kendall and Brewer were very entertained by Lonni and the amazing iPad.

Did I mention it was a big group? Gosh I love our friends.

And to top it all off the Niners won! Unfortunately, they lost the week after this and are out of the Superbowl this year but that's alright... we don't want to hog the spotlight ;-)

Four Months Old - Our Tall, Thumby, Teething Baby!

That's right folks, we have a four month old on our hands now and contrary to her parents' wishes, she's showing no signs of slowing down!

Hailey's getting more into her bumbo seat, which is great because it's one step closer to sitting up on her own.
Whooooooa. Toys.
And tummy-time is hit or miss in our household with her, except when we break out the sweet vanity mirror that Michelle gave her for Christmas! Hailey's a little narcissistic and loves looking at herself in the mirror, but HEY whatever gets her into tummy time is OK by me!

We have to look our best when cheering on our Niners!
And her new party trick is sucking her thumb. Before this she pretty much just tried to eat her whole hand, but now she's discovered her thumb... which is just beyond cute because it's so tiny!! We're still giving her a pacifier though when she's fussy or tired (these go hand in hand most times) so hopefully she doesn't get too addicted to either.

Thumb Sucker Extraordinaire
So why the sudden interest in thumbs and pacifiers? TEETHING!!!! Yup, Hailey has her very first tooth coming in! Unfortunately we found this out after a particularly cranky Christmas night. Poor thing was crying for a while and we finally discovered the problem. Bottom left corner tooth has made its way to the surface!

Say AHHH!!!  Hard to see but that back white spec is tooth
After that cranky night, Hailey has been feeling much more like her happpy giggly self thankfully :) This nursing mommy is crossing her fingers that the rest of those teeth take their time getting here. OUCH for both of us!

Hailey's four month doctor's visit went great and she took her shots like a champ, only crying for about 5 seconds.
Happy Nekkid Baby!
Turns out she's 26" tall and 14lbs 4oz, which puts her at 96th percentile in height and 50th percentile in weight. Long and lean! But more importantly, she's healthy, which is all that matters :-)

Our not so short baby!
Other than that, we've been busy with the holiday rush and running around making memories.

Half Moon Bay stroll
Gotta protect those baby blues!
Loitering at the Ritz Carlton fire pits
Not a bad little afternoon
Asleep as usual! But still rockin the shades.
Hiking Edgewood - Daddy gave Hailey his shades
Fun Hike!
And last but not least... here's a picture of the neighborhood kids at our Holiday Gift Exchange. Nicholas (running out of the pic lol), Kendall, Aiden, Brewer, Alex and Hailey!

Hailey's First Christmas

We love Christmas time in our household and this year was even better with Hailey around! It was fun thinking up what traditions we want to pass onto her and keep in our family for years to come. First things first, instead of shopping for gifts on Black Friday, we got up bright and early to shop for… our Christmas Tree! Of course, the lot wasn't even open at 7am, so we turned around and went home to have some coffee and kill time until a couple hours later and THEN we shopped for our tree!

Hailey found one she liked!

Tree Shopping!
Once we trucked it home (one of the only reasons we love having Joe's truck) it went in the house and we got decorating!

Hailey's First Tree Decorating
Evil mommy that I am, Daddy wasn't off the hook just yet. After we got the tree decorated, Joe put up our lights. Have I mentioned what a good man he is?

Don't worry though, I let him relax a bit too with some video games… and a sleeping baby strapped to his chest. He's a pretty good multitasker.

Later on, we made a trip down our favorite local Christmas tree lane… Eucalyptus in San Carlos. This street is insane with their Christmas lights every year and we were ecstatic to show Hailey. Hailey was so excited about it all, that she had to take a nap… through ALL of it. Oh well, she'll see it next year :)

Believe it or not, those are christmas lights from ONE house behind us
Just a tad bigger than the one we have at home
Love this guy
Reindeer flying a Jeep… Classic.
One of our favorite outfits for Hailey lately is her Polar Bear costume, a gift from her wonderful Grandma Sue. It's the softest thing in existence and I've decided that when she's in it, she's basically a real life Ewok.

Snuggles!
I cannot stop grinning when I hold her in it. SOOO FLUFFFYYY!!!
One of our final Christmas prep traditions is when we go to see the lights in Palo Alto. Christmas Tree Lane is another one of our favorites, but somehow we started the tradition of picking up LOADS of Chinese food from one of my favorite places growing up, Rickshaw in Foster City, and then we eat it in the car, parked at one of the cross streets where the lights are. It's definitely weird and we look ridiculous doing it I'm sure, but MAN do I love it. We'll see how this tradition goes once Hailey's able to eat solid foods… it may get a bit messy in future years.

Cheers!
I'll take one of just about everything please. Thanks.
Hailey had fun watching Mommy & Daddy pig out
At least she was awake for this one!
Finally, Christmas Day was here and you guessed it…. Santa came! We got up promptly at 6am and got started! I'd like to say that we did this because our daughter was up that early, but really mommy and daddy were just too excited to sleep in any more and these early birds will probably be waking up Hailey almost every Christmas, begging her to get up and open presents.

Santa came!!

Stockings are full! (Note to self, get better life-long personalized stockings next year)

Hailey rocking out her sweet new shades and rattle bracelets.
All this Christmas stuff sure takes if out of ya! Thank goodness for naps!

Merry Christmas indeed!
